It had a nice sweet blend to it. We set 2 tables of 6 since you were a party of 12. Oh did I forget the cucumber and dill? We had to sit near the kitchen and it made it noisy. We liked how the tables were set and really enjoyed the tea the pots were full and scones. I just took my Mom today, and she loved it.
The scones were so light and fluffy. The princess menu includes mini cupcakes, brownies, and lemonade and apple juice for younger patrons, while private parties at Harmony Tea Room can arrange to have savories and finger sandwiches served with soup, salad and scones. Beautifully delivered on English bone china and pretty servers. Anna was our server and she was superb! I called the quality of food 'average' because that is what you get when you balance out tasty food with meager servings without offering traditional scones as an option and nickel-and-diming regulars for whom you don't have enough fresh food. We had a wonderful time, and I was really impressed by all of the thought put into the details of the 'tea', from the decor, to the place settings and service.
Overall it was a lovey afternoon! They schedule private parties before there normal business hours, so we had to do tea at 11am which was fine. Every bite of the food was a treat. And the atmosphere is beautiful, it makes you feel like you are transported to an authentic high end tea room in a European city. One with fresh apples and the other with fresh strawberries. As for the service I waited on you that day since due to unpredictable events I was left without waitstaff so it was me and my 15 year old daughter doing it all. But the prettiest one was carrot spread and beet spread with white and brown bread. My staff and I tasted all the iced teas and could not find the taste you describe.
And finally, the sweets were fantastic - I had a white chocolate chip raspberry bar that was to die for! It has a relaxing atmosphere where you can catch up with an old friend and have a delicious meal simultaniously. In the context of a lovely high tea, and considering all that is provided for you, the pricing is quite reasonable. Additionally, I agree with the reviewer who said that plain scones should always be an option. The service was warm and friendly. The owner was warm, welcoming, and has clearly put her heart and soul into this place. Tina had carrot soup and I had a pear, bluecheese salad.
The salads were excellent, very flavorful. Even my husband likes it! We waited several minutes before we were approached and asked if we wanted to know what the soup and salad was. The room itself is much roomier than other tea houses--I had high tea with a party of four and we weren't crowded at all. All while sipping away at our perfectly brewed pots of tea. We didn't like the flavor of the prepared iced tea offerings, and our server replaced it with our hot tea selection with no fuss. I highly recommend this tearoom!! The place is so pretty and so calm and lots of whimsical things like the teapot chandelier! I do recommend making reservations for lunch time Friday through Sunday, they get pretty busy! I picked the Tranquili-tea package, the food was very tasty and plenty of it.
Deserts were delicious -- small apple pies were my favorite. I had the Chocolate Black Tea and my friend had the Florida Orange Rooibos. Then one afternoon my girlfriend and I went and loved it. This did not sound appetizing, and we ordered just a pot of tea for one which comes with 2 scones, the only 2 left for the day. Tearoom response: Aug 23, 2013 Kathy, Firstly, I am sorry to hear of your loss however I must respond to your comments. Courses were brought out in great time, but we did not feel rushed when all was said and done, and enjoyed relaxing, keeping good conversation, and finishing the last of our tea after our meal.
The woman, who I presume was the owner, was rude and I will never go back there again. It was our first visit to Harmony and certainly will not be the last. It is hard to imagine a cinnammon pecan scone, or an oatmeal raison scone with fruit jelly and Devonshire cream. So the tables were left separate and we had tea. Everyone raved about the scones the girls made during the party! She also neglected to offer milk with our tea, and we had to ask her twice for it. Only downside is that it got wicked hot at our table at the sun was shining right on us. We were asked to seat ourselves, even though we had a reservation.
My friend and I both had the Hospit-Tea. With a few improvements, this place could be great. The teas were brewed to perfection! She was very attentive to us the whole time we were there. The space is limited so I would make reservations. We have a routine for the party and it was run by and experienced staff member. I always had to ask her to ask my guests if they wanted more to drink. I ended up drinking water with my meal.
Everyone was able to select their own tea, including lemonade for the youngest in the group. She has had a rough enough time lately with the loss of my grandmother, who we all very close with, without the disappointment of not going to this planned celebration. The staff was sweet and inviting and the mismatching classes gave it some whimsy. When I called, I asked if they would have a table in 10 minutes and specified that I had an infant who needed a highchair. As for the tea and food it was better then I could have asked for! Today, my mom and 2 daughters dressed up and decided to go to tea at this teahouse. Here are a few suggestions.
